Youth and Family Ministrya word about Immanuel’s education philosophy…We understand that if the faith is to be passed on to our children, it will happen in the home. All of our education ministries exist to support the important work of faith development that takes place in the family. We also understand that not all families are alike and not all children learn in the same way. To that end, we attempt to make our education ministries responsive to the needs of each child. Fall Wednesday evening Confirmation classes for 7th , 8th and 9th graders at Immanuel have begun. We are looking forward to another year filled with fun and thought provoking conversation as we journey together in our studies and reflections on God’s word. We have moved from looking at Confirmation as a rite, to understanding that it is a lifelong learning process. Sunday SchoolImmanuel offers regular Sunday morning classes for all children beginning with 3 year olds. Classes meet From September – early May during the education hour beginning at 9:15 am. We have a lectionary based, multi-age model for Sunday School. This means that each Sunday the preaching, worship and teaching in Sunday School are all on the same scripture lesson. 3 years-olds through 5th graders gather as a group for music and teaching. Adults also take part. The age groups then meet for activities and further learning around the theme of the day. Middle School Forum and High School Forum also meet at 9:15 to discuss life issues in light of the Christian Faith. We encourage youth to attend and bring their friends Send feedback and questions to youth@immanuelprinceton.org |
