Who we are...
You may be new to the community or you may have been in the area for some time.
In any case, you are invited to share in our life of worship and service of the
Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
If we can be of assistance or if you have any questions, please feel free to
contact the church office.
We
belong…
to Jesus and
to one another |
We belong to the church in much the same way we belong to a family. Someone
brings us in. As Lutheran Christians we believe that God brings us into his
family when we are baptized with water in the Name of God – Father, Son and
Holy Spirit. Whenever this happens – as infants, young people or adults – we
become part of God’s family.
Individual congregations are places where members of God’s family share each
other’s joys and sorrows, help each other to grow closer to God, and live as
disciples of Jesus in the world. Immanuel is not perfect – no group of human
beings is. Immanuel is a collection of forgiven sinners, brought together by
God’s grace, to nurture and love each other, and to call others to know God‘s
love.
We invite you to share our life together. Our New Member Ministry will help you
find a place to belong and to grow. New Member Groups are formed regularly
throughout the year. Preparation for baptism, for adults or children, takes
place as needed. Many opportunities to learn are available as well, especially
for those who have basic questions about faith and life.

Worship
at
God’s Welcome Table
|
Worship at Immanuel is a celebration of God’s love for us. Traditional and
contemporary worship styles are used weekly.
Traditions – 8 am A worship service that weaves together the old and the new,
using the Lutheran Book of Worship and With One Voice as its primary resource
Celebrations – 10:15 am A time of worship using a variety of styles to celebrate
God’s love in Jesus
Holy Communion is celebrated weekly. All are welcome at the meal because Jesus
offers his true body and blood to all who believe. Come in faith and
repentance, seeking the life Jesus offers.
Opportunities for individual prayers and anointing for healing are offered on
Sundays several times each month.

| Growing
together |
Throughout the year, we offer a variety of opportunities to make new friends as
we grow and learn together.
Sunday School is offered for children age 3 through grade 5 at 9:15 am on
Sundays. Middle School Forum (grades 6-8) also meets at this time.
Adult Forum & High School Forum (grades 9 – 12) provides
opportunities to discuss faith and life issues.
Confirmation for 7th, 8th and 9th graders include Wednesday evening
classes, independent learning projects, retreats, and a mentoring program.
Vacation Bible School is offered for children every summer.
Bible Study groups and Women’s Circles meet throughout the week.
Youth & Family activities happen throughout the year and include
trips, servant events and opportunities to learn and grow together across
generations.

A people who serve |
At Immanuel we talk about "spiritual gifts." These are all the ways God equips
us to serve in his world and church. Here is a sample of the ways we serve.
PARISH HEALTH AND VISITATION. Immanuel has a staff Parish Nurse, who is
committed to the healing mission of the church, and is willing to assist people
in their holistic health journey.
BeFrienders Ministry equips lay pastors to journey with individuals who have
significant health and life issues.
MUSIC MINISTRY Immanuel is gifted with many fine musicians, but don’t feel like
you need to be a "pro" to take part. All musical groups welcome members of all
abilities.
The Celebrations Band helps to plan and lead the 10:15 am Sunday service.
Several musical groups offer music at worship, including the Senior Choir,
Handbell Choir, and small ensembles.
Short Term Service Opportunities. Since service in the congregation and
the community is a vital part of discipleship we offer a variety of short term
opportunities to service. These are often times for families to serve together.
Mission partners include: Princeton Pantry, Lutheran Social Services, East
Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity, Rum River Interfaith Caregivers, and
Camp Onomia. The German Dinner in September and the Craft and Bake Sale in
November are two occasions when we work as a congregation to support mission.
