We belong...
to Jesus and
to one another
We belong to the church in much the same way we belong to a family. Someone brings us in. As Lutheran Christians we believe that God brings us into his family when we are baptized with water in the Name of God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Whenever this happens – as infants, young people or adults – we become part of God’s family.

Individual congregations are places where members of God’s family share each other’s joys and sorrows, help each other to grow closer to God, and live as disciples of Jesus in the world. Immanuel is not perfect – no group of human beings is. Immanuel is a collection of forgiven sinners, brought together by God’s grace, to nurture and love each other, and to call others to know God‘s love.

We invite you to share our life together. Our New Member Ministry will help you find a place to belong and to grow. New Member Groups are formed regularly throughout the year. Preparation for baptism, for adults or children, takes place as needed. Many opportunities to learn are available as well, especially for those who have basic questions about faith and life.
Worship at God's Welcome Table

Worship at Immanuel is a celebration of God’s love for us. Traditional and contemporary worship styles are used weekly.

Traditions Service – A worship service that weaves together the old and the new, using the Evangelical Lutheran Worship as its primary resource

Celebrations Service – A time of worship using a variety of styles to celebrate God’s love in Jesus

Holy Communion is celebrated weekly. All are welcome at the meal because Jesus offers his true body and blood to all who believe. Come in faith and repentance, seeking the life Jesus offers.

Opportunities for individual prayers and anointing for healing are offered on Sundays several times each month.

Vacation Bible School is offered for children every summer.

Bible Study groups and Women’s Circles meet throughout the week.

A People Who Serve

At Immanuel we talk about "Spiritual Gifts." These are all the ways God equips us to serve in his world and church. Here is a sample of the ways we serve.

Parish Health and Visitation. Immanuel has a staff Parish Nurse, who is committed to the healing mission of the church, and is willing to assist people in their holistic health journey.

BeFrienders Ministry equips lay pastors to journey with individuals who have significant health and life issues.

Music Ministry. Immanuel is gifted with many fine musicians, but don’t feel like you need to be a "pro" to take part. All musical groups welcome members of all abilities.

The Celebrations Band helps to plan and lead the Celebrations service.

Several musical groups offer music at worship, including the Senior Choir, Handbell Choir, Sunday School classes and small ensembles.

Short Term Service Opportunities. Since service in the congregation and the community is a vital part of discipleship we offer a variety of short term opportunities to service. These are often times for families to serve together.

Mission partners include: Princeton Pantry, Lutheran Social Services, East Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity, Rum River Interfaith Caregivers, and Camp Onomia. The German Dinner in September and the Craft and Bake Sale in November are two occasions when we work as a congregation to support mission.
